Bored in Brooklyn 04: Get Smart

Comrades, it's time to get your learning on.

Indie Night School is the brainchild of Tom Sean, guitarist and singer for locals (to me, anyway) The Black Spoons. The premise is simple: even the most ardent DIY-er needs some help with the D'ing now and then. So the Indie Night School offers workshops on a host of music-management issues, from how to deal with lawyers to tips for organizing successful charity benefits to simply getting yourself booked at decent clubs. Guest speakers include band managers, promoters, bookers, and others who've been around the block once or twice or thrice - so you know they know what they're talking about.

You don't need me to tell you that talent and creativity alone will only get you so far in this world. Having some business savvy and preparedness can make all the difference. Check it out and email Tom for more information.

Three hours ahead, getting ready to leave the office, over and out.

Comments:
We should have those in LA.
