The music, people and stupid moments that make up the nightlife

I'm either out of touch...

...or Warner Bros. doesn't know what to do with Muse.

Remember them? They were that British rock band who made a splash a few years ago at the tail end of the Brit Rock Invasion, disappeared when rap-rock took over, then reappeared thanks to the fast-selling Absolution that earned them a spot on the mainstage at Coachella 2004.

They've got a new one coming out a month away from now. The only reason I found out was through a sticker I found at Floyd's Barbershop on Melrose Ave.

...

The current single is "Supermassive Black Hole." Check it at their site.

Comments:
"Knights of Cydonia" is getting play on KROQ (oddly enough, so is "Le Disko" from Shiny Toy Guns). I think the press will hit next month.

haven't even heard the band name down here. main stage at coachella? really?

No Muse in San Diego? The band is actually really popular up here. Several tracks off Absolution were in regular rotation on KROQ and the band did Acoustic Christmas a year or so ago.

Plus the Inland Invasion as well.

I saw them in San Diego two years ago at a place called Brick By Brick. Tickets were six bucks. The venue holds about 400 people but Muse were playing a stadium show from that tiny stage. Needless to say, the gig was a Top Fiver. A few weeks later, they headlined the last night of Glastonbury.

They'll be back in San Diego at Soma on 7/21 and I urge you not to miss them.
