The title of this story is so apt.

The L.A. Times printed a much shorter, much less scathing version of the article.

I'm not a big fan of income tax. Hell, I can't imagine anyone really wants to part with a heavy chunk of income every year so that Congress can sit around and ponder ways to waste money. So, I really couldn't give a shit how someone wants to evade the taxman either here or abroad. But, this is Bono, who has somehow got it into his head that he is Jesus in bug-eyed sunglasses and spends the time he could be using to make an album that isn't flat-out terrible trying to tell governments how to spend their, I mean our, money. That's just a wee bit hypocritical.

Bono sucks.

Armenians will get it too, especially if they are from Beirut. In fact, the first time I heard the word douche outside of a Masengil commercial was as a teenager from one of my Beirut-born friends.

Wow, I had no idea the word was the same in Arabic.....
as far as Armenians go, most of the adults I've met know how to speak farsi very well too...not sure if it's because they were from Iran or what...shit...even Andy sings in farsi!!!!!!

Which means, most everyone who lives in the Valley has a douche....and I dont mean a ringo starr!!

I don't think it's an Arabic word, I think it's just because French is widely learned in Beirut, so a lot of people throw in French words. Like, Armenians always say "shad merci" for thanks a lot.

Don't Farsi and Armenian have a lot of similar words?

Yes...but now I'm thinking a majority of the similar words are the french ones?!? lol jk They might....but when Armenians speak with each other I sense no familiar words, and when they talk to me I can tell they're speaking with iranian slang and vocab etc so that I may be able to understand them. I don;t know, you mgiht have to find that out for us. I wonder.

Farsi also has appropriated a lot of farsi. We have the merci, we call couches "moble" etc. All of which is non-existant in Afghan Farsi!!!
