A Reading on the Horizon

So, I'm doing one of those reading things next weekend. Having never done one before, I have no idea what to expect. I do know that I will be reading a humerous tale of the misadventures of goth kids in the Valley, circa 1992.

The reading is actually the last date of a book tour for Todd Taylor (of Razorcake) and friends. Here are the details. I hope you can make it.

Sunday 10/08/06 8 p.m.
Mountain Bar
475 Gin Ling Way (Chinatown)
Los Angeles, CA
90012-1712
*Also reading: Joe Meno (author of Hairstyles of the Damned), Todd
Dills, Mickey Hess, and Liz O.)
Vermin on the Mount is pleased to announce the book release party for
Todd Taylor's novel Shirley Wins. Joining him are a trio of
Midwestern writers: Mickey Hess (Big Wheel at the Cracker Factory),
Todd Dills (Sons of the Rapture) and Joe Meno (Hairstyles of the
Damned, The Boy Detective Fails). The Mountain is located at 475 Gin
Ling Way (directly across from the Wishing Well) in Chinatown. Fun
starts at 8 PM.

Comments:
Since our daughter has a relatively early bed time, we're going to the earlier reading that same day. In pasadena at 4pm I think. And I'm assuming you're only going to the 8pm reading right?

Darn!! It would have been cool to see you read too! :(

hmmm. scratch that last comment. we're going to the LA reading. Heela has school until 5pm that day. coolness.

is the humer sorta like the femur?

;)

Funny. I've been on a typographical error roll of late.

augh! wish I could be there!

my tips: print out whatever you're reading in large font, double-spaced, so you don't lose your place, and staple the pages together so they don't fly away. speak 10% slower than you think you should. don't step on the laugh lines. DO NOT do as I did once and wear a pair of pants that have a tendency to unzip themselves without warning.

and fyi, I typed 'pear' there at first. maybe typo time is contagious? or cosmic?

OMG! I used to have jeans that would unzip all the time. That's why I don't buy Old Navy or Calvin Klein anymore.

I have this habit of twitching a lot, especially when I'm nervous. I keep shifting my weight from one foot to the next and I start feverishly rolling my eyes and stuff like that. It should be entertaining.
