Not a whole lot to report this weekend, except that the episode of The Simpsons that aired tonight was perhaps the worst pile of horseshit I have seen yet. This is tragic considering that Carlos and I have spent the past four years (roughly) trying really hard to laugh at scenes from what was once a show we loved. I can't believe that they let this live and I'm stuck waiting up all night to watch the handful of episodes of Futurama that exist.

I'm not even sure if there was a plot in this episode. I just know that they name dropped a hell of a lot of writers that mean nothing to the American public at large (perhaps with good reason?). It's kind of like when you read The New Yorker and you wonder if it is a pre-requisite for publication that the writer make copious reference to his/her Ivy alma mater and you sit there thinking, Shut up, you pretentious asshole. God, I wanted to watch a t.v. show, not an individual laughing square (to paraphrase the far superior Family Guy).
