Everyone Loves Depeche Mode

Just so you know I'm not full of fangirl love and hyperbole in relation to the new Depeche Mode album, this is what one of my friends said over email.
"Oh yeah. I read your review the other day and that is what prompted me to even give it a listen. I gave up on Depeche Mode years ago to be honest. I was hooked as soon as "A Pain That I'm Used To" came on. I really didn't think any album would come out this year as good as the Imogen Heap album. This blew it out of the water."

It's coming out on Tuesday. Brace yourself.

Take a Look at Me Now

Oh, wait, wrong singer.

I saw Boy George on tv yesterday and thought, "Who is that old punk dude?" Subsequently, I spent more time searching for a similar photo online than I did working on the paper that's due today and still came up empty-handed. Anyhow, special thanks to Carlos who is the most awesome boyfriend on the planet for sending me this link.

A Sad Loss

Evil Club Empire posted on its forum today that DJ Jen has passed away.
Those who grew up in the Los Angeles club will remember Jen from clubs like Helter Skelter and Perversion and as an employee of Vinyl Fetish back when it was on Melrose.
I first met Jen almost ten years ago when we were both learning how to DJ. Amanda was training her at Helter while Jason was training me at Coven 13. We used to go to each others parties and play what would make the other dance (and Jen could dance circles around most of the other folks at the club). She was truly one of the kindest people I have met in through the club scene and will be missed.

New Gold Chains and Sue Cie

Gold Chains and Sue Cie make dance tracks with bite, even if their set at Spaceland last year went on for seemingly three years. According to Kitty Yo's recent mailing, the duo are releasing the "Crowd Control" remixes as part of the label's new series. You can download the Phon O. remix for free at the following link. If you want the hard copies, go here.
